COMPOSTING
FOR THE COMMUNITY
Bringing composting home to an on-campus residential facility.
The aim of the project is to convert a currently empty plot of land, situated within the Scholarship Hall Community at the University of Kansas, into a compost garden.
My Goal :
By doing so, I hope to bring the issue of sustainability closer to the on-campus residential community. The results would be educational, while also giving the community a chance to prove that composting regimes could well be installed across campus, thereby bringing the university closer to it's ultimate goals of sustainability.

The project is also aimed at giving residents of the community a reason to care about the environment, a view on life on earth that they may well take with them into the future, whether to impart to others, or to just lead environmentally sustainable lives themselves.

Finally, the project would give residents of the community a chance to get out of the house on weekends and spend some time with their neighbors doing a little garden work. This would also count towards their individual community service hours, a much coveted statistic that is a deciding factor (at the end of the year) in the Best Scholarship Hall of the Year award.
